Travel

We've been extraordinarily blessed in the travel department. During our courting period (a story that really must be told over a couple of beers), Laurie spent a year in Amman, Jordan, and Glen spent a year each in Bangkok, Thailand, and Kotmale, Sri Lanka. That began an obsession with travel that we hope to continue for the rest of our lives, and to inspire in the lives of our children. So far, so good!

This is the Treasury Building in Petra, which some believe to be the biblical "Place of Safey". Laurie has been to Petra 6 or 7 times and counts it amongst her very favorite of places in the world.

If you enlarge this picture, you can actually feel the cool water...

This is one of Tristan's favorite places in the whole world! It is the pool and swim-up bar at the Jamaica Grande Resort in Ocho Rios, from which we had the pleasure of enjoying not just one, but two hurricanes in September of 2001.

Since our marriage, we have been to Italy, Greece (including some of the islands -- ooh la la!), France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada (British Columbia to Victoria), Hawaii, U.S.A., the Barbados, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico (a number of times).

Our favorite travel resources are: The Fodor's Books (we use this like a bible and they have rarely let us down), www.wheretostay.com, Travel People (a ticket consolidator out of Miami) at 1-800-999-9912, and Frank Fish's travel agency.
